Starlife Assurance To Assist Asante Kotoko In Building Multi-Purpose Stadium At Adako Jachie
Asante Kotoko’s dream of building a stadium will see the light of the day as reports reaching Ghanacrusader indicates that Starlife Assurance will assist the club financially, as well as, any other means in building the stadium.
Management of fast-rising insurance company in Ghana Starlife are currently in red-hot talks with the Porcupines to help fast track the building of the multi-purpose stadium at the club’s training grounds in Adako Jachie.
The sod for the construction of the project was cut a few years ago, with the hierarchy of the Porcupines bent on getting the club its own stadium.
The Adako Jachie project which was started by former Executive Chairman Dr KK Sarpong is expected to have a mini-village, a 40,000-seater capacity stadium, two-storey building to serve as changing rooms and offices for the technical staff among other facilities. The club has started building a wall for the stadium which is part of the first phase of the project.
Kotoko has been using the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for decades, however, the club and the fans feel it would better to have their stadium so that he can put an end to the huge money they pay to the National Sports Authority before they can use the stadium.
